Some online casino offer players an additional opportunity with Blackjack: surrender. If a player, after receiving two cards, is under the impressions that his chances of winning are really low then he is sometimes allowed to step out. For example, if the player has a total of 15 en 16 whereas the dealer has a 10 in one card then he can surrender and only lose half of his deposit.

This opportunity provides the player with a huge advantage. Sometimes ‘surrender’ is offered if the dealer gets an ace or a ten. In that case the player is allowed to step out immediately. Other casinos leave that choice to the player. If the dealer pulls an ace then the players can also insure himself against a Blackjack from the dealer. However, once the player has surrender he cannot insurance as well. He has to choose!

If the amount of high cards in stock is really high and the dealer pulls out an ace or 10 then surrendering is definitely your best option, because the dealer stands a great chance of getting a Blackjack. However, if the cards in stock are relatively low then you might consider a gamble.
